Crane Kalman Brighton is pleased to host the launch of the Millennium Print Collection – a new venture from one of the UK's leading creative image agencies. For the first time, Millennium Images will be showing limited edition fine art photographic prints by a select handful of their contributing photographers.
The Millennium Print Collection will be launched with an exhibition of a number of these prints at the Crane Kalman Brighton Gallery from 26th October to 22nd November 2009.
Millennium Images was founded in 1998 and is widely regarded as the first choice for creative imagery for licensing reproduction rights and commissions. Over the last 10 years, Millennium has built a collection of over 20,000 contemporary photographic art images from more than 500 photographers both by more established artist and emerging talent whose work may be being published for the first time.
Millennium Images have represented the work of photographers including Edgar Martins, Magalie Nougarede, Daniel Treacy, Michael Ormerod and Nancy Honey and work on a regular basis with clients including . The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Times, The New Yorker, and allof the world's leading book publishers.
The new Millennium Print Collection is being launched in response to growing interest in the work of many of the Millennium contributors and the growth of the fine art photography market. The Millennium Print Collection will produce accessible limited edition fine art collectable photography from some of the most exciting emerging and established photographers in the UK and internationally. Limited edition prints will be available from prices starting at £350. The Millennium Print Collection is also being launched to coincide with the release of the new Millennium Images catalogue – Volume 4 – which will present 308 photographs by 308 of Millennium's contributors, some of whose work will now be featured as part of the Millennium Print Collection. The catalogue contains stunning photography by some of the most creative image makers around.
Millennium was founded by Jason Shenai, a photographer regularly working for magazines and newspapers including The Observer and The Sunday Telegraph. In the early 1990s, Jason started Inside Eye, a project run within Wandsworth Prison which helped prisoners to document their lives in photographs and was first shown at The Photographers' Gallery. At this time, Jason also started teaching at Westminster University, running the Documentary Photography module. Jason lectures from time to time at various of the UK's university photographic courses. Jason is photography judge on The Koestler Awards. He regularly reviews photographers' portfolios at event such as the Arles Festival, Rhubarb-Rhubarb and Mois de la Photographie (Paris.) He was one of the three partners of FrameZero Gallery in Old Street, London.
The other members of the Millennium team are Niall O'Leary: Art Director, Neville Mountford-Hoare: International and Giacomo Furlanetto: Production.
The new Millennium Images catalogue will also be available to buy from the gallery at a special exhibition price of £10.

Crane Kalman Brighton is a member of the Own Art scheme run by the Arts Council. The scheme provides interest-free loans of up to £2,000 to buy contemporary art work.
