After studying photography in Germany in 1996 and working as a freelance photographer, Jochen Klein completed an MA in photography at the London College of Communication in 2007. The following year he had work accepted for the Royal Academy Summer Show, as well as exhibiting in several London group shows. His work is held in the collections of University of the Arts London, the Barts and the London NHS Trust and in private collections. A solo exhibition organised by VitalArts (the arts organisation for Barts and the London NHS Trust), took place at the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel in spring 2009.

Jochen Klein has exhibited in group shows internationally and presented his series Deadly Mountains in a solo show at Bräuning Contemporary in Hamburg/Germany in June 2012. In Spring 2014 he will present talks on photography as a guest lecturer at the Freie Kunstakademie Baden Württemberg in Nürtingen/Germany.

Jochen Klein’s work centres around ideas of authenticity, truth and virtuality in relation to the photographic medium. He lives and works in London.
